David Regan has composed for this ensemble, with its unusual instrumentation, all-new music. Angular, lyrical and thought-provoking melodies over complex harmonies are presented with passion and emotion. Sometimes the music is quiet and introspective; sometimes it is raw and visceral.

DAVID VIRELLES EXPERIMENTAL ENSEMBLE
This ensemble focuses on process versus repertoire. We workshop concepts and strategies as an ensemble, which then allows as to compose spontaneously as a group. As an ensemble, we like to treat improvisation as a form of composition.
